AA/ DST Spotlight- Unproduced Kirk Variant!

The Rundown: If there is one complaint that most fans have about the AA/ DST TOS Star Trek line, it's that there are too many Kirk & Spock figures. Well, I for one don't mind it as much because I'm a sucker for all things Trek. I'd buy just about anything they would produce.... including produce. As in fruit.



In an effort to appeal to a new bunch of fans, DST designed a new line to reach the "health food" crowd. Combining the coolness of Trek with the healthy wholesomeness of nature's candy seemed to be a great way of doing that. I mean, check out this never-before-seen concept art if you don't believe in the concept:



Yep. That seems pretty much foolproof to me. Plus, the line would have been displayed in both the toy AND produce sections- DOUBLE EXPOSURE!



Sadly, the lack of preorders and the limited shelf life of the line caused it to be canceled before it made it past these early stages. A real shame. Ah well...
